Binder holds the cigar together. It is nothing but piece of tobacco wrapper around the bundle of tobacco (the filler). Though the binder makes the difference to the flavor and strength of the cigar, it doesn’t really make a difference to its taste. The leaves chosen for binder are not similar to leaves of filler or wrapper. Leaves of binder are usually the thicker and coarse usually found on the upper part of the plant of tobacco and are chosen for binding as they are durable.

Wrapper:

The wrapper also constitutes to the flavor and character of the cigar, but depends from cigar to cigar and also based on the type of tobacco that was used for wrapping the cigar. The mildness or strength of the flavor of wrapper are usually associated with the color of the wrapper, the darker being strong and lighter being mild.

The blend of all the three components determines the final tastes and flavors of cigar.
